We moved house right at the coldest time of the year, when temperatures were regularly -5 degrees centigrade - I don't think we would have coped without the electric blankets! I had the rental property to myself for a week and went to bed each night with pretty much all my clothes on plus a woolly hat and a couple of water bottles - it was baltic. Luckily flannelette sheets, fluffy blankets, plug in heaters, electric blankets and learning to love layers made it all better.
As if the cold weren't enough, for the first time in 10 years there has also been very heavy rain, which has all the farmers smiling and the dams nice and full. It has also brought on numerous leaks in the roof of both our rental property and actual property which has kept us busy on the bucket front.
