Backyard Cabin - Day 14

Unfortunately I’ve kind of lost track of the days a bit with the cabin, easy to do when the tradesmen  rarely turn up when they promise they will. The ridge capping and barge capping are now on, the hot water system is installed and the inside has been gyprocked and plastered.

All the days have now blended into one long paintathon, Mr L’Orange has done all the ceilings and roller work whilst I have been cutting in and painting the outside. Whilst it was great to have the Weathtex cladding pre-primed, grey probably wasn’t the best colour as it takes at least three coats of paint to cover it properly. The cabin is slowly transforming into something you can imagine living in, unlikely to be finished before March however L

Our Wee Cabin

One of the benefits of having a big garden is that there is plenty of room to erect a granny flat! We have spent the last 3 months organising for the installation of our ‘beach cabin’ which we have purchased through Backyard Cabins. I have done both my White Card course and Owner Builder Course so that we can get the build going smoothly and keep the council & certifiers happy.
We got our CCD approval through from Orange Council just before Christmas and the building work has started in earnest this week.
Here are some pictures of what our cabin should look like when it is finished.
